Sport best contributes to a child's development when they are challenged and kept interested in a sport.  Through 35 years of experience Burlington Basketball has come to recognize a few players develop at a rate that puts them at a different level than their peers for any given year.  In an effort to provide the best basketball development opportunity possible to ALL our players, Burlington Basketball offers AGE EXEMPTIONS in all our programs.

2 ways an Age Exemption can occur:

1)  A request for an AGE EXEMPTION can be forwarded by the parent to the appropriate Program Director found on our Club Contacts page.  Once we receive a request, the Director will assess the options available for any specific child and pass on a recommendation to the parent, player and the board of Burlington Basketball.  In all cases, the assessment of the Program Director will be held as final and their recommendation will be the one the club assumes for that specific player at that specific time.

2)  A Program Director seeing a player not being challenged by a specific program or age group will contact that child's parent and recommend their child is moved to a different program or age group.  This is always in the best interest of the child being requested for an exemption and has no bearing on their affect on the program/age group they will be leaving or joining.

In all situations the individual CHILD's development will be the sole and absolute concern of the appropriate Program Director.
