AllStar RETURNS Saturday Jan.14th
PANTHER's Competitive House League Program
"Building Skills and Self-Confidence Combined!!"
What is AllStar : Based around a 2 times a week, 14/16 week program, players learn from coaches committed to teaching individual skills in the latest Canada Basketball approved manner. A full 1.5 hour practice slot and a 1.5 hour refereed (OBA Refs for most games) game slot each week. This weekly training ensures skills are developed a high level while still allowing players the challenge of friendly competition in a true game format. AllStar Coaches are committed to developing great players and work as a team to provide every single player in the league with a chance of becoming better.
"Each successive year builds on fundamentals learned at earlier ages. Opportunities to “catch up” on skills missed by not playing AllStar in a previous year are always available. REP players in our Panther program are also allowed to participate in AllStar, all other REP players are prohibited without express written consent of Burlington Basketball."
Why it Works? By playing one game a week and then practicing the following Saturday, players are able to make mistakes on game night, work on solutions at practice and then repeat the process the following week. This is ideal for building self-confidence and learning how practice can make you better at anything.
The AllStar Program Highlights:
FeesOn or after August 1/2011 = $365( includes Full Uniform and Leather Composite Ball )
Season Schedule Sept 25th Evaluation Day
October 15th 2011 Practice Slots Begin
October 18th 2011 Game Slots Begin
The AllStar Mission : To create a positive skills development program, that allows players of all physical maturity levels the opportunity to learn and grow as both a person and an athlete, in a friendly and safe competitive environment while preparing them for the next level of competition as offered in our Panthers Club/Rep Teams.
If you are looking to develop into a “Total Basketball” player then Burlington Basketball’s AllStar Competitive House League Program is the place to play. Following closely the example established by Basketball Ontario with their Provincial Bantam and Midget Elite Development programs (Fair Playing Time and Man to Man Defense), All-Star offers players aged 9-16 an opportunity to develop skills that are necessary to become a complete athlete. The AllStar Program relies heavily on Canada Basketball’s Long Term Athlete Development Model which is viewable online at www.ltad.com .
