Where Should I Play?

The most commonly asked question, we as an organization are asked, is where should my child play.  In years past, we would have looked at a player's ability and then made a recommendation.  35 years of experience, in developing over 5000 players, using an introspective assessment, has proven this was the probably the wrong way to answer. The reality is, where your child should play is determined by your child answering two questions (sorry parents but these are kids only questions).

Question #1:  How much do you Like/Love Basketball?
and
Question #2:  What is your personal goal in the game of Basketball?

Parents will be surprised to find out by simply getting a child's honest answer to these 2 questions you can get a pretty realistic idea of how your season would go in each of our programs.

Scenario #1:
Ask question #1 and If your child answers I DON'T EVEN "Like" Basketball, then we suggest you find out what they do "like or love", and steer them in that direction.  If you still want to pursue basketball and see if they can grow to like it, we recommend MBAB.

Scenario #2:
Ask question #1 and If your child answers they "Like" basketball then we recommend you turn to the second question.
Ask question #2 and If they say their personal goal is to have fun and learn while not caring about the score then MBAB is recommended.
Ask question #2 and If they say their personal goal is to become a better player and compete in games to win or lose, then AllStar is recommended.

Scenario #3:
Ask question #1 and If you child had answered they "LOVE" basketball then we recommend you turn to the second question.
Ask question #2 and If they say their personal goal is to become a better player and compete in games to win or lose, then AllStar is recommended.
Ask question #2 If they say their personal goal is to become the Best player and compete in games to win then registering in AllStar and trying out for Panthers is recommended.

Scenario #4:
In the event your child "Loves" Basketball and really wants to become the BEST player possible while being personally willing to practice, practice, practice and practice, then we recommend the Panther/AllStar option.  By playing both AllStar and Panthers a player can receive up to 4 days a week of Practice in the game of basketball.  Since to become the best, requires 5 days a week of practice or at least 8 hours of practice time weekly, this is the only way to become the next "Steve Nash".
Now many people feel this seems like alot with school and other activities but when you consider the average child watches more TV and plays more Video games than this usually on Saturday alone, it comes down to a choice.

Burlington Basketball is the only club in Canada to afford it's players this unique development opportunity.

So...Now Where Can I Play?  and don't worry you can join us at any age in any of our programs, even if you have not been part of Burlington Basketball in the past.
